What is Technological Convergence?

What is Technological Convergence?

Technological convergence is the tendency that while technology changes, different types of technological systems sometimes evolve towards performing a single similar task, So technological convergence is pretty much when new technologies get created which allow them to take over previous technology and perform the same task but in a more advanced and efficient way. One example of technological convergence is that people were using there normal day to day phones but eventually smartphones came out which pretty much replaced the original phone in everyway since the smartphone could do everything the original couldn't but more and much more efficiently, one of the best examples would be gaming consoles as originally you could only play video games on it but now days you can do a lot more such as browser the internet, purchase games directly from your home using your console and receive them instantly and you can even watch all of your favourite TV programs on your gaming console now days, but it doesn't even stop there as you also have wireless controllers now days and you can also play games with your friends no matter how far away they are to your console.
